Phil Welches, PhD completed a one year certification program in Psychedelic Therapies and Research at the California Institute if Integral Studies (CIIS), taught by experts from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), John Hopkins University, UCLA, New York University, University of Wisconsin Madison, UC Berkeley, and CIIS. The program content included clinical protocols involved in FDA-approved research currently in final phases, including MDMA (for PTSD) and Psilocybin (for depression); historic psychedelic research; and long standing cultural/shamanistic practices. Dr. Welches is a provider listed by Psychedelic Support. Currently, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is the only Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy legally available in the US, with the exceptions of those in research trials. Dr. Welches provides Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Dr. Welches also provides psychotherapy with individuals experiencing distress related to unresolved past experiences. He does not provide or refer to treatments which involve illegal medicines.
